Sex Party & The Three Legged Monsters

Sex Party & The Three Legged Monsters

Saturday we had our gender reveal party and it was so much fun!  We ended up having about 20 or so people stop by. We asked people to wear pink if they thought it was two girls, blue if they thought it was two boys, and white if they thought it was one of each. I represented team white and Steve was team blue.

It was a gorgeous day in San Francisco so most of the time we hung out in the back yard.  Steve made some burgers and we had a few other things to munch on.  For desert we did the gender reveal cake for baby A.  It was beautiful.  I love Mitchell’s Ice Cream cakes… we might need another occasion to get one before we move out of the city.

We had everyone gather around and Steve cut through the cake.  It was still a little frozen and one of Steve’s friends shouted “PUSH!  PUSH!”.  It was good times.  The inside of the cake was oreo ice cream with a layer of blue frosting.

I was pretty shocked when Steve flipped it around and we all saw that it was a boy.  I was certain baby A was going to be a girl!  My instincts were way off. I immediately had to verify that the card did say “Boy”. The ultra sound tech included a couple pictures of the male parts… to me it just looked like a 3rd leg.

Here’s a picture of our surprised faces.

We did have someone record a video but they were more interested in the results so there are no videos of our faces… just the cake and balloons.

I made everyone wait to find out the gender of the second baby. As everyone was finishing up their desert we took the box outside into the yard. Then we gathered around and opened it…

I’m not exactly sure what the balloon shop was thinking adding those ugly green/yellow balloons. The guy asked if he should put other colors “like white” and I said, “sure, if it looks good”. Guess I should’ve been more strict to sticking to the color of the babies! They threw me off and I definitely had to open the cards to verify the results. Again, we saw a third leg. These babies have HUGE genitals! …maybe that is normal.

Steve convinced me to nix the scratch off cards… after I spent an hour trying to find a place that printed two sided cards. Even the online places didn’t have options except for the pre-designed versions. With all the house work we have to do and other stress it made more sense to just call our families and tell them “in person” using facetime. Everyone seemed so happy for us. My parents are looking forward to having 5 grandsons under 2 (Knox will have just turned 2 when the twins are born). The race for the first granddaughter is still on…

I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed that one of them wasn’t a girl. I am going to be outnumbered. But I told Steve that there are going to be strict rules about how to respect mom… no toilet seats up, no cussing, no farting… I will just have to try again for my chick flick watching buddy. The idea of having twin boys has grown on me in the time since we found out. I think it’s going to be fun for them to grow up with each other. Being the same sex would be more fun than opposite genders… they’ll be super close. I can’t wait to meet them! Now to start coming up with names…
