Rest in Peace Grandpa!

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it to Florida to be with my grandpa when he passed away.  Here’s what my cousin Alison had to say about his passing:

At 6:18 pm this evening, Kenneth Eugene Richardson took his last peaceful breath. He was in the presence of his sisters, his grandchildren, and each of his five children. It goes without saying that he was held and kissed as he left this world by his loving wife, partner, and friend, Joyce, who has been by his side since they were 15 and was there every minute through the very end. He left this Earth to the peaceful voice of Johnny Cash singing I Corinthians 15:55 after his family (a less talented bunch but full of love) finished the tune of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.” I can think of very few other more peaceful ways to move on. He will be desperately missed but his life celebrated in the days – and years – to come.

When I spoke to my mom on the phone she said it was “beautiful”.
