34 week appointment

34 week appointment

So today was my weekly NST, followed by a growth scan, followed by a dr’s appointment.  My mom came with me.  We did the NST first and both babies were supportive.  Then we went to the ultrasound to find out that both baby A and baby B are both breech.  They also are both facing towards my back/spine so we couldn’t get a good glimpse of their faces.  I did come home with two pictures that I’ll scan in and add later.  Their heart rates were similar but they are pretty different in the size estimation.  Baby A was measuring 5 lbs 14 ounces (bigger than the boys already!) and baby B was 5 lbs 3 ounces. It was also confirmed that both babies are still girls!

When we went to the Dr she suggested I reach back out to GBMC if I wanted to have a c-section scheduled there and I could always cancel and come back to Mercy is baby A flipped back to heads down.  She said that the chances of A flipping were much smaller than the chances of them remaining in their current position given how far along I was.  🙁

So, when we got home I called up GBMC and tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Claire Weitz who I had seen originally.  She said I couldn’t come back because “if baby A flips down I’ll most likely just go back to Mercy”.  I’m so upset.  They won’t accept me as a patient.  She flat out lied to my face.  I was told I could come back at any time and now I’m told I can’t.  It’s frustrating enough that I have to come to terms with the fact that I have to have a repeat c-section, but now I’m freaking out about not being able to deliver at GBMC.  Mercy does do c-sections but their rate is only 20% (which would be awesome if I wanted a vaginal delivery).  They are also a “learning hospital” which is what I went through at Hopkins and I’d prefer not to go through that type of experience ever again.  Upset and sad… but at least both girls looked great and no signs of pre-eclampsia!
