Two months old

Two months old

The boys were two months old this past Sunday.  I can’t believe how fast time is flying by.  To mark the occasion we bought a new digital camera so the photos this month are extra adorable.

The fun part about this past month is they are developing into their own with very unique personalities. They are both smiling at us and more alert.  They are spending more of the days awake and less time sleeping.  They both hate to sit in dirty diapers.  Immediately they start wailing until we change them.  We probably go through around 22 diapers a day.  I am still successfully exclusively breastfeeding them.

Anthony

  • Anthony is solid.  I can tell he’s gaining weight and quick. He loves to eat.  He weighed 8 lbs 8 ounces at his 8 week apt. He looks up at me while he’s eating from the corner of his eyes and smiles against my breast.
  • Anthony is our funny man.  He’ll crack up with what sounds like a little giggle out of no where.
  • Anthony is more like his mother when it comes to mornings.  He likes to come and sleep with us around 7 am and is dead to the world.
  • Anthony is smart.  When he loses his pacifier he can find it with his head and pull it back into his mouth.  He will also use one of his arms to hold it in his mouth.

Nathan

  • Nathan is our talker.  Maybe because he doesn’t like the pacifier as much but he’s always cooing.  Sometimes he’ll be fussing and all the usual suspects are okay and it turns out he just wants us to hold him and talk to him.  He’s very social.
  • Nathan is also a morning person.  He is his happiest right when the sun is coming up.  It’s fun waking up to his smiles.
  • Nathan is more of a mama’s boy… at least so far.
  • Nathan is smaller than Anthony weighing in at 7 lbs 14 ounces at their 8 week checkup.  However, he is eating way better than he used to.  I have removed the nipple shield and he just guzzles down the milk.
  • Nathan’s hair is coming in!  I can’t tell yet what color it’s going to be.  Looks like a light brown.
  • Nathan has his daddy’s short temper.  If he can’t latch immediately he will get so frustrated and squeal at the top of his little lungs.
  • Nathan is a kicker …and boy are his legs strong.  It can make changing diapers interesting.
