A night in the life of breastfeeding twins

Last night was rough on Steve and I. The boys are sometimes on the same schedule and sometimes not. They started out eating around 10 pm and here’s what happened:

They were up at 1, 2:30, 3:30, 5:30 and then 7:30. Each time they’re up eating its about 30 minutes to feed and another 15 or more to put them back to sleep. Everyone keeps telling us we need to “get them on the same schedule”. Short of waking them both up each time one of them gets up it’s very hard to do that. The screen shot is from my phone. I downloaded a neat breastfeeding app that lets you time which boob was fed off of, etc. I use “left” for Anthony and “right” for Nathan. Last night I gave them some milk I had in the fridge in hopes that would make them sleep longer than 2 hours. That plan didn’t work.

Regardless of the hellish night, we woke up to this:

…it was worth the frustration to see the smiles on their faces this morning.
