On Friday the girls had rice cereal for the first time. I don’t think they are quiet ready for solids yet. I tried twice, in the morning after I had already fed them and then around lunch time after it had been a few hours since they ate. Of course they did better when they were hungry and even had their mouths open ready to accept the rice cereal. But their tongues aren’t cooperating. They tend to push two thirds of it right back out. It’s exciting that they’re starting to eat other things.
…I didn’t get a picture of O on my nice camera, just Emily.
I mentioned that the boys had started rice cereal. Here’s a few of the highlights:
We started solids! *kinda* On Monday night we decided to add a little rice cereal to the boys nighttime bottles in hopes that it might buy us some extra hours of sleep during the night. We’re not sure if it helped or not, they went about 4 hours each stretch… which is a lot better than three. We only put a few spoonfuls of the rice cereal into a bottle and the boys drank it mixed with some breast milk.
Last night we tried to make it a little more concentrated. Unfortunately it meant that the cereal didn’t fit out of the nipple hole on the bottle which meant a very angry Anthony. When he wants to eat, he wants to eat NOW! So that was a hectic adventure trying to figure out the best way to feed him the rice cereal.
