30 weeks growth ultrasound

30 weeks growth ultrasound

Today Steve and I went to our 30 week growth ultrasound at Mercy.  Steve wanted to practice driving to Mercy and Labor and Delivery just so we were comfortable knowing where everything is incase something happens.  My appointment was early this time so we didn’t have to wait around the long before being seen.

Baby A: heart beat 136, weight estimated at 4 lbs, breach – 73rd percentile

Baby B: heart beat 143, weight estimated at 4 lbs 7 ounces, traverse – 59th percentile

I caught a glimpse of the monitor when she was measuring and it said Baby A was coming in at 32w6d and baby B was 29w0d.  I was slightly worried that baby A was so much bigger than B and the ultrasound tech talked to a doctor and no one seemed to be that concerned.

Their little heads were touching each other.  Yay, another pregnancy of freaking out as to whether or not they’ll turn heads down.

26 week ultrasound

Yesterday I brought my mom with me for my monthly ultrasound to see how the girls were measuring.  They were right on schedule.  Baby A weighed 2 lbs 3 ounces with a heart beat of 141 bpm.  Baby B weighed 1 lb 15 ounces with a heart beat of 144 bpm.  Baby B was being super stubborn and wouldn’t turn so we could get a good look at her face.  So all of the pictures are of Baby A.  Baby A is super flexible.  She had her feet up by her head, just hanging out.  Both of them were breach.  Baby A is on my right side, and Baby B is on my left side.  The technician said that wouldn’t change for the remainder of the pregnancy.  It was fun to take my mom with me to the scan.  We figured she hadn’t been to one since she was pregnant with my sister.  It was a bit frustrating that we had to wait an hour to be seen at the office.  Here are the pictures we got:

Hopefully we have another 12 weeks to get these little ladies to turn heads down.

18 week anatomy scan

18 week anatomy scan

This morning Steve and I went in for the twins anatomy scan.  They both looked great.  Nothing too exciting to report.  They both seemed a little shy and/or tired with their arms up covering their faces.  They were still positioned almost like they were on bunk beds with Baby B being pushed up to my chest by Baby A from down below.  There seemed to be a lot of kicking and random feet in other baby’s faces during most of the scan.  The ultrasound tech did manage to get a couple good profile pictures though.  Baby A measured 8 oz. with a heart beat of 150 bpm.  Baby B measured 9 oz. with a heartbeat of 155 bpm.  Very close to what the boys measured.  The ultrasound tech let Steve take a video once everything looked okay.

We had her put their genders in an envelop so we’ll do our little gender reveal today and share the results.  I’m 18w5d (according to the adjusted date) but based on lmp I’m 18w2d.

Here’s a picture of my belly from Saturday:

12 Week NT Scan

12 Week NT Scan

This morning Steve and I went in for the 12 week ultrasound scan.  The babies both measured healthy and were very active.  Much more active than I remember the boys being during their scans.

The babies looked like they were sleeping on bunk-beds.  Baby A was on the bottom and B was on top.  A measured 12w2d and had a heart beat of 170 bpm with an anterior placenta.  Baby B measured 12w3d and had a heart beat of 166 bpm with posterior placenta.  Here’s the post of the boys at their 12 week scan. Everything looked great  I have an appointment with my Dr tomorrow to talk about the results.  The next big ultrasound should be between 18 and 20 weeks when we should be able to find out the sexes!

We’re Expecting! We’re Expecting!

We’re Expecting! We’re Expecting!

So excited! So exited!  Why am I repeating everything?!?  Because we’re expecting TWINS!  Steve and I are so excited to be blessed with conceiving two babies.  When Steve and I went in for our first ultra sound we kinda had a feeling it was going to be twins.  I had a super dark positive pregnancy test 4 days before my missed period and when the dr. ordered HCG blood tests those levels were also off the charts (306 13 dpo; 836 15 dpo; 19922 22 dpo).  When I did a facetime with Sara to show her the pee stick she immediately said “It’s twins!”.

Steve and I had been looking at the ultra sounds for twins and singletons on google so when the dr. did our first ultra sound we knew before he said anything that it was twins.  We are both so excited. Twins is going to be super fun.  Since this is our first pregnancy we also don’t know what to expect, sure it’ll be double the work, but we won’t know any better.
