Super Storm Sandy

Super Storm Sandy

Luckily Steve and I were already in the hospital before Super Storm Sandy hit Baltimore.  The Dr’s were insistent that we stay in the hospital not just to be monitored but because the storm was coming in and if I did begin to have a seizure (which is the risk with pre-eclampsia), it would be hard for Steve to get me to the hospital in the storm.  Steve spoke to our new neighbors, Dominica and Brenda, who volunteered to feed Gracie and let her out while we were away.  It was a relief knowing that he wouldn’t be making the commute home during the rainy days.

I called my parents on the phone and gave them the update on our situation.  At this point I was being monitored constantly for my blood pressure and if it spiked they were going to do an emergency cesarean.  My mom was able to get a new plane ticket to come out and help us earlier than her other one (she wasn’t supposed to be out here until Nov 14th).  My mom’s flight gets in tomorrow, October 31st, and the weather looks good so Steve will be able to pick her up.  I can’t wait to have my mom around…
