Nathan can walk unassisted on the little scooter toy Grandma and Grandpa Seacat got the boys. He’s going to be full on walking any day now!
The boys went 13 hours between eating last night and slept for almost 12 hours. They went to bed at their normal 7 pm and we didn’t wake them when we went to sleep. They slept until 6:30 in the morning. How awesome is that?!?
“Anthony, you are going to impregnate someone some day with those eyes.” – Steve
Both boys are now standing… all the time! It is so adorable and infuriating at the same time. Especially Anthony because he hasn’t masted the graceful dismount yet. So he’ll get himself into a standing position and then doesn’t know how to get himself down. His favorite place to stand is on one of the baby gates. Because of the way the bars are, it’s very easy for him to pull himself up. Their cribs come in a close second. They’re always pulling themselves up and laughing and playing with each other when they’re supposed to be napping or going down for bed. How can you be mad at a face like this:
Last Tuesday Keri told us that she had an opportunity to interview for a Baltimore teaching job and that her new job, if she got it, would start this Monday (8/26). Of course they loved her and she got the job. So it was a mix of emotions being sad that she was leaving us, scared that we wouldn’t find anyone nearly as good, and happy for her to move on with her career.
We rushed and scrambled and managed to interview 8 different nannies in 48 hours! Luckily Grandma DeLuca was able to stay for this week to help out with the boys and hopefully a new nanny can start on the 3rd. We’re going to miss you Keri! You’ll always be the boys first “best friend”. Good luck in your future career!
The boys got their first laptop at Costco last weekend. Steve’s friend Dom had one for his daughter so we thought the boys were definitely old enough for this 3+ year old toy. Basically it sings the ABCs and they can press different buttons for it to do different things. It’s not even a QWERTY keyboard though. I’m pretty sure the boys are smart enough to realize it’s just a toy and not the real thing like mommy’s.
Like his mommy, Anthony did NOT want to share his laptop. Especially with someone who wants to bend back the screen and put their slobbery fingers all over it!
